Snapchat is an increasingly popular method for musicians to share bits of unreleased songs with their eager fanbases. One such artist is Wale, who recently sent fans a clip of a song he’s working on. What made it particularly snap-worthy? For starters, the track features none other than Kanye West, whom Wale has described on Twitter as a “real live genius.”
The clip isn’t particularly high-quality, but it’s easy to make out Kanye singing in his recognizable Autotune-croon. He seems to be singing, “You were just alright, you were just okay,” which may hint towards a theme of romantic turmoil.
The footage comes from a recent studio session in Paris, where Kanye has been posted up for the last week. There’s no official word on whether the song is meant for Wale’s forthcoming album The Album About Nothing—also rumored to feature Jerry Seinfeld—or Kanye’s much anticipated new project So Help Me God, which does not yet have a release date.
The Album About Nothing is due out March 31st.
In fact, this isn’t the only project Kanye and Wale are cooking up together: the two of them are currently hard at work designing new jerseys for Wale’s hometown basketball team, the Washington Wizards.
