If You’re Reading This, Drake’s New Album Probably Already Went Gold

by 11h ago

Drake took fans by surprise when he dropped If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late on Thursday night, but the project’s impending success isn’t much of a shock.

On Friday (Feb 13.), not even a full day after the 17-track project dropped, Hits Daily Double is reporting that Drizzy is on pace to sell as much as 500,000 copies in it’s first week of release.

That’s a major feat, considering that Drake isn’t going to have a full week of sales to account for because he dropped on a Thursday and not the usual Tuesday. It’s also important to note that If You’re Reading This was only released digitally, so physical retailers haven’t gotten a chance to hawk the disc yet.

In the months leading up to the release there were numerous reports that Drake would be dropping a mixtape for his fans, most assumed that the offering would be free. Now that If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late is finally here, many are wondering if this is that reported mixtape or Drizzy’s fourth official LP.

Regardless of how it is ultimately classified, the new project will definitely help Drake add more plaques to his collection.
